A Big Mac, a helping hand and a shared purpose: Corazones por la Vida joined McDía Feliz 2012
At McDonald’s La Castellana, a public invitation became a day of service—artists, volunteers, customers and community members gathering around a simple idea: participation can open doors for children and families.

Showing up for a cause
Román EL RO and Fundación Corazones por la Vida joined McDía Feliz not only as invited voices, but as active participants—welcoming people, sharing the campaign and helping turn visibility into solidarity.
CARACAS, VENEZUELA — Friday, November 16, 2012. Fundación Corazones por la Vida participated in McDía Feliz at the McDonald’s restaurant in La Castellana, where founder Román EL RO joined volunteers, guests and members of the public during a national day of solidarity linked to programs serving children and families.
The original invitation preserved in the foundation’s archive announced Román EL RO’s participation beginning at 2:00 p.m. The photographs and contemporary social-media captures document the gathering inside and outside the restaurant, the McDía Feliz volunteer aprons and the spirit of collaboration that accompanied the campaign.
Why McDía Feliz mattered
McDía Feliz was built around a clear model: use the reach of a familiar public space to mobilize customers, employees, artists, journalists and volunteers in support of social initiatives. In Venezuela, editions of the campaign supported child-focused organizations and programs, including the Asociación Civil Infantil Ronald McDonald and initiatives connected with pediatric care.
For Corazones por la Vida, the day aligned with a conviction that has guided the organization since its beginnings: visibility has its greatest value when it is converted into direct service. The presence of artists can attract attention, but volunteers, donors and participating families are what transform attention into real community action.

Román EL RO: a voice in service of the community
During the event, Román EL RO wore the campaign apron and shared the day with the McDonald’s team, supporters and other public figures. Contemporary posts from McDonald’s Venezuela and media accounts recorded his participation, extending the initiative beyond the restaurant and into the digital conversation of the day.
That role reflects the foundation’s broader approach: public recognition should never become the center of humanitarian work. It should be used to invite more people in, strengthen trust and connect a cause with those who can support it.

Collaboration that reaches beyond one day
The value of a campaign like McDía Feliz is not limited to a single restaurant shift or social-media post. It shows how companies, nonprofit organizations, artists and citizens can share responsibility for the well-being of children. Each participant contributes something different: infrastructure, time, visibility, professional experience or a donation. Together, those contributions become a network of care.
For Fundación Corazones por la Vida, the 2012 event remains part of an institutional history shaped by partnerships. Years later, the foundation continues to apply the same principle in humanitarian response, primary health care, nutrition, WASH, hygiene assistance and volunteer mobilization: no meaningful mission is sustained alone.
