FROM OUR ARCHIVE / CARACAS, VENEZUELA
An amphitheater, a generous lineup and hundreds of volunteers came together around one cause: support for the children at Hogar Bambi.
September 2010
An archival view of the 2010 concert stage. In September 2010, Fundación Corazones por la Vida brought a benefit concert to the amphitheater at Sambil Caracas in support of Hogar Bambi, a children’s home in the city. The foundation’s archive identifies September 18 as the date of the concert.
The original account describes performances by Venezuelan and international artists across the day. Among the names it records are Román EL RO, Huáscar Barradas, Caramelos de Cianuro, Víctor Muñoz and Tambor Urbano, with presenters and sponsors also contributing to the program.
The concert offered a public way to stand alongside children served by Hogar Bambi. It made music a meeting point for people willing to contribute their time, talent and resources.
More than 200 volunteers, according to the foundation’s original report, took part in collection activities around the Sambil area. Their participation carried the purpose of the concert into the surrounding community.
In December of that year, the foundation documented a donation delivery to Hogar Bambi. Together, the two archival stories show how the event and the subsequent handover were linked.
